I'm a little bit off today

Anniversary days bring anxiety, fear.

I've known this was coming since this time last year.

Still, This is the day the Lord hath made!

Maybe I'm a little bit off today.

People everywhere, still I'm alone.

Talk and laughter, but none of my own.

I try to act normal. There's nothing to say.

Yes.  I'm a little bit off today.

No secret as to the reason why.

Someone dear to me,  on this day passed by.

Memories bring smiles and a tear to my face.

For sure.  I'm a little bit off today.

It's odd, to be neither here or there.

How can you let me know that you care?

Give me some room.  I'll find my way.

Might help. I'm a little bit off today.

Time has stopped on the clock on the wall.

The second hand is stubborn.  It refuses to fall.

Will this day ever end?  It's 10 AM you say?

No doubt.  I'm a little bit off today.

If you've ever hugged me, hug me again.

Thanks for checking on me, for being my friend.

Together we'll be calm, Together we'll be brave.

It's ok.  I'm a little bit off today.

I don't pretend to have it all figured out.

Good memories and experiences can help get us through sad anniversary days.  Still, the day can be dreaded and long.

Together, we push back on our feelings, and try to live our best life today and tomorrow.

With a grateful heart, we can smile and realize that we are, who we are, partly because of the people we miss.

When we miss a person that much, we somehow carry something of them forward with us.

As Christians, we have the promise and hope of eternity in Heaven.  We know we will see our loved ones again.

When it's our turn to leave this world, may we hold onto this promise.

1 Peter 1:6

So be truly glad.  There is wonderful joy ahead even though you must endure many trials for a little while. (NLT  New Living Translation)

Titus 1:2

This truth gives them confidence, that they have eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised them before the world began. (NLT  New Living Translation)
