There is something special about a sunset.
The picture above was made May 17, 2024.
I was on the way home from Mt. Vernon. A quick look to the right as I crossed the tracks on Lincoln Street. The sunset was unusual and beautiful. A bonus, the CSX train was making it's way up the hill from Normandy.
The light was green and I went straight. Then I took a right on Jackson Street, to go around the block. The sunset was worth a second look, and trying to get a picture.
I parked in the long narrow parking lot in front of Daddy Billy's, and Spinelli's Pizza, and walked out by the railroad tracks.
This is the same parking lot Will did donuts in the snow a few years ago. We were at home, and flipping channels on TV. The live video downtown showed the falling snow, and the parking lot. There was not a foot print or tire track. With a little encouragement, Will and I left home in his truck, and Terri watched TV and waited. She took the video at home with her camera phone.
Also, the same spot I cruised through recently in the old truck. I was meeting some friends that were in for a holiday. We got a couple of more pictures...
Back to the sunset...What a blessing to see one like this, and stop for a minute and get a picture.
We should all slow down, and appreciate everyday things. Sunsets, sunrises, and donuts in the fresh snow. We should laugh more, and try to visit with old friends. We take too many things for granted that are special, and worth a second look.
